Bring up Respect

Australian Government

Violence Against Women. Let’s Stop it at the Start.

Every time someone excuses disrespect in kids, disrespect can grow. But, there’s a flip side to this: respect. Every time you bring up respect with your kids, you bring up respect.

And while we talk a lot about kids’ firsts – their first words, first steps, their first day of school, first kiss – there are other firsts we should be celebrating; the foundations of respect. Like, the first time they share, the first time they stand up for a friend, the first time they show sportsmanship. All of these are made possible by talking about respect.

Over a series of films, we show the lives of two different kids, Jack & Ava, learning respect from different influencers as they grow up.

But, their stories aren’t separate. They exist in an interconnected world with intertwined lives – demonstrating the powerful ripple effect that talking to kids about respect can have on everyone around them.
