We are EmKi~KiEm. It’s portmanteau for Emily & Kiah or Kiah & Emily, depending on who’s talking – we put each other first.
We’re a Sydney-based, Associate Creative Director duo with over 20 years of industry experience, combined; proof that two heads are better than one. Albeit, Kiah’s is so small she has to wear hat fillers. And Emily’s is only big by comparison.
Emily grew up on a farm and Kiah grew up by the sea. But now Emily lives by the sea and Kiah is not on a farm.
Emily lawn bowls for Bondi Seagulls. Kiah dances hip hop in Newtown. Kiah has all the tattoos and piercings. Emily has one. But when Emily has roast beef, Kiah has none.
We’re both morning people but Emily is more morning. Emily gets up and runs. Kiah gets up and sits (Buddhist).
You’ll think we’re pretty normal until we read a script. Or should we say, perform? The word ‘witnessing’ is often thrown about.
Hugh Jackman once thanked Emily for her “commitment to the battle cry” and complemented Kiah on her “singing voice”.
We’ve won the international things, talked at stuff, mentored, yadda yadda yadda. But all that’s just a byproduct of doing what we love.
We like coming up with stuff that makes things better and stuff that turns frowns around, and around, and around, and around, and around – isn’t that pretty? After all, ideas can be anything. Just like you. Dream big friends, dream big.
